Know someone who blogs for their business? Send them your personal link. When they start a paid plan, you both get bonus credits: 10 credits for them, on top of their plan's credits, and 10 credits for you. Every account has a link, with or without a plan.
Share your link
- Open Refer a friend. Click Refer a friend in the sidebar. There's also a link under Buy credits on the Billing page.
- Copy your link. Your link is shown with a copy button. It's the same link every time, so you can put it in an email signature or a newsletter.
- Send it to a friend who blogs, or who should.
- Wait for them to start a plan. You'll see the progress on the same page, and get an email when your credits arrive.
How it works, step by step
- Your friend opens your link. It takes them to Blog AI's home page. The referral is remembered while they browse.
- They sign up during that visit, with Google, as a new Blog AI account. If they come back later instead, it still counts within 60 days, but only if they accepted cookies on their first visit: that's how we remember the link without tracking anyone who didn't agree to it.
- They pay for their first month on any plan. When that payment goes through, they get 10 credits on top of their plan's credits, and you get 10 credits. We email you when it happens, naming your friend by first name only.
Signing up alone doesn't earn credits: the reward waits for a real first payment. Free accounts, top-ups and fully discounted months don't count.
The rules
These match the referral section of our terms of service, which has the full wording.
- New accounts only. Your friend must create a new Blog AI account with your link. Someone who already has an account can't be referred later.
- First link wins. If your friend opened someone else's link first, that referral stands.
- Up to 20 rewards in any 12 months. After that, your friends still get their bonus credits; you don't get more until older rewards fall outside the 12 months.
- No referring yourself. A second account with the same email address, the same card or the same website (Search Console property) doesn't count, and nobody gets the credits.
- Refunds take the credits back. If your friend's first payment is refunded, or disputed and lost, the referral credits are removed from both accounts, in proportion to the amount refunded. That can take a balance below zero; the next credits you receive make it up.
- Credits are credits, not cash. Referral credits have no cash value and can't be transferred to another account.
- Abuse doesn't pay. We may withhold or remove referral credits obtained through abuse. We may also change or end the referral programme; credits you've already earned are kept.
What you'll see
The Refer a friend page shows:
- Friends joined: accounts created with your link
- Friends who paid: those who started a plan
- Credits earned: your total from referrals
- Rewards left this year: how many more you can earn in the current 12 months
We never show your friends' email addresses. Your credit history on the Billing page lists each reward as "Referral: … joined", and your friend's shows "Referral: welcome bonus".
Spending referral credits
Referral credits are ordinary credits. They never expire, and work with or without a plan: posts, ideas, images, refreshes, merges and Google snippets. Weekly AI-visibility tracking needs a plan, because it isn't priced in credits. See Understanding credits.
Where else you'll see your link
After you publish a post, Blog AI may show a small note with your link. You can dismiss it. The weekly digest email also includes a line about referring a friend.
Common questions
My friend signed up but I haven't got credits
Credits arrive when your friend's first payment goes through, not when they sign up. If they have paid, check that they opened your link before creating their account, and in the same visit (or accepted cookies).
My friend already had an account
Referrals only count for new accounts, so that one won't earn credits.
Can I refer my own second business?
Not if it uses the same email, card or website as your account. Referrals are for other people.
