Track how AI assistants answer about you
Track the questions your customers ask AI assistants, see whether answers mention or cite you and who is cited instead, week by week.
Last checked against the product on
More people now ask an AI assistant instead of typing a search. When they ask "what's the best way to…" or "who can help me with…", does the answer mention your business? Does it link to your pages as a source? Or does it send them to someone else? The AI visibility page answers those questions for the questions you choose, every week.
What Blog AI checks
You choose tracked questions (the page also calls them prompts): things your customers might ask an AI assistant. Every week, Blog AI asks each question fresh, with web search turned on, the way a customer would. For each answer it records:
- Mentioned: your brand name or domain appears in the answer's text
- Cited: one of your pages is among the sources the answer links to, and its position among the cited sites
- Cited instead of you: the other sites the answer used as sources
- Your cited pages: which of your pages were cited, linked to the post when the page is one of yours
It never names your business in the question itself. The point is to see whether an assistant brings you up unprompted.
Which assistants are checked
Blog AI checks Claude. More AI assistants coming soon.
Which assistants your site gets depends on your plan. Starter checks Claude. Pro and Agency check every assistant Blog AI supports as each one goes live. The AI assistants checked card on the page shows each assistant's status for your plan: Active, Coming soon, or the plan that includes it.
How many questions you can track
AI-visibility tracking is included in every plan, and doesn't use credits.
| Plan | Tracked questions per site |
|---|---|
| Starter | 10 |
| Pro | 25 |
| Agency | 50 |
Without a plan, you get one free snapshot of up to 5 questions; see What's included free.
Set up your questions
- Open AI visibility. Click AI visibility in the sidebar. It shows the site you have selected.
- Add a question. Under Tracked questions (prompts), type a question your customers ask, for example "how do I choose a CRM for a small team?", and click Add prompt.
- Or pick from your searches. Suggested from Google Search Console lists the longer searches that already find your site (other than your brand name). Click Track on any you want.
- Wait for the first check. New questions are checked within the hour. Or click Run now to check straight away (once every 10 minutes).
- Read the answers. Each cell under Latest answers shows Cited · #position, Mentioned or Not mentioned. Click it to read the answer and every source it cited, with yours highlighted.
The page shows how many of your plan's questions you've used. To add more when you're at the limit, pause or remove one. Removing a question removes its history too, so pausing is usually better.
Reading the results
- Summary cards: the share of answers that mention you and that cite your pages in the latest week, all assistants together, with the change in percentage points from the week before.
- Trend: 12 weeks of mention rate or citation rate for each assistant, so one noisy week doesn't mislead you.
- Cited instead of you: the domains that answers cite most, over the last four weeks. These are the sites the assistants treat as authorities on your questions.
- Your cited pages: your pages that answers used as sources.
AI answers vary from one asking to the next, even for the same question. Look at trends over several weeks rather than any single answer.
Weekly budget pause
Each plan includes a weekly allowance for these checks, covering all your sites together. On a busy account, if it runs out before every question has been asked, the rest of that week's checks are skipped. The page says Paused for this week, results you already have stay, and checking resumes the following week. Moving to a bigger plan lifts the pause.
What to do with the results
- You're cited for a question: good. Keep that page up to date; refresh it when it slips.
- You're mentioned but not cited: assistants know of you but don't use your pages as a source. A clear, specific post answering the question often helps.
- A competitor is cited instead: read the page that's cited. It usually answers the question more directly than anything on your site. That's your brief for a new post or a refresh.
- Nobody like you is cited: the question may be too broad. Try the longer, more specific versions your customers really ask.
Blog AI can't make an assistant mention you. It shows you where you stand, and your posts do the rest over time.
Common questions
Why does the page mention assistants my plan doesn't include?
So you can see what's available. Only the ones marked Active are checked for your site.
How is this different from the free blog audit?
The free blog audit checks your blog itself (posts, links, sitemap, speed) and doesn't ask AI assistants. Tracking here asks the assistants your own questions, every week, with history.
